The 2010 LG ICC Awards were held on 6 October 2010 in Bengaluru in India. These awards will be presented in association with Federation of International Cricketers' Associations.[1]
International Cricket Council has been hosting ICC Awards since 2004 and now is in its seventh year. The previous ones were held in London, Sydney, Mumbai, Johannesburg and Dubai.
ICC awards Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy to the Cricketer of the Year which is considered the most prestigious award in world cricket.
The nominations for seven of the awards were made by a five-man ICC selection panel chaired by ICC Cricket Hall of Famer, Clive Lloyd. The ICC Awards panel consists of top cricket players and administrators from around the world. It was charged with two main tasks: providing a long-list of nominations to the 25 members of the voting academy to cast their votes in the individual player award categories and, using their experience and knowledge, select the ICC World Test and ODI teams.[2]
